A place to celebrate the art, of storytelling.

Every person has a story and connecting with one another is what makes the world go round. Interviews, features, and collaborations with NIRA VIDA will continue to move and inspire us to show up as our better selves.

the reinvention of … Sarah Long

My first interaction with Sarah, was at the pediatrician’s office. My little one getting their immunization shots. It’s always an uneasy visit, but I was observant of the nurse practionner. She seemed, cool and calm despite the fussy baby at hand and the hard job of having to administer pain to littles for the greater good. Fast forward almost two years, and I see her again, this time behind the counter at a local eatery in town. I recognized her and it didn’t take long before I found a chance to chat her up.

Sarah is a beautiful soul. Resilient. Steady. Great smile. Talented. Authentic eyes. She’s had her challenges. And she’s no stranger to overcoming them.

I’m really looking forward to sharing her story with you. She has dreams she’s finally having the chance to pursue. She welcomed me into her home and showed me around and told me stories of the past and more importantly, vision for the future.

I’m sure this story will need a follow up in time. For now…I present to you, Sarah Long.

When I first met Kristi, I was standing behind the will call pickup counter of Len Busch, awaiting my cut flower order. It’s a hub for pickups for anything plant/floral related.

In walks in a vibrant soul with the coolest short bangs like the pinup girls back in the day. Her eyewear also making a statement. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen such outward creativity. I couldn’t help but chat her up. Her name was Kristi, also known as FARM GIRL.

When I think of a dream floral setup, I think of a picturesque field of flowers. But between you and I, not all of us are cut out for such a life. Let me present you to Megan of Florwegian Farm. This is what she just accomplished this past week:

“We officially have 480 dahlias dug and washed and ready for dividing to make spring a little smoother.
All 40 beds of annuals have been pulled.
All the irrigation has been rolled and put away neater than ever! (Also going to make spring much easier)
All landscape fabric has been pulled folded and organized by hole spacing ( also a huge plus for spring)
610 perrenial plugs planted and rooted in to thrive next season
112 peonys planted and ready to be an amazing addition to early blooms in 2026
2800 tulips tucked away with the help of the neighbor, and his tractor 🚜 promises of beauty during my favorite part of springtime
500 allium to finish off a few perennial beds
100 garlic in the ground for dried floral garlic braids next fall (shout out to Secret Gardens Produce for the hookup 💚)
The field is all tilled and back to a clean slate.
This day is so thrilling as a flower farmer because it's the day that you get to stop dreaming of next season and start really planning now to make next season even more beautiful and bountiful.”

Love the inspiring work ethic. She’s always a sweetheart and a stunner. Let’s get to know her further….
